FAQs About New Roofs

When it comes to replacing or repairing a roof, many homeowners have questions about the process. Knowing the condition of your roof is the first step. Once our team has determined the condition of your home’s roof through a FREE roofing consultation, we can offer our professional opinion and services to help protect the roof over your head! We know you might have a few questions before getting started, that’s why our team has compiled a list of the most frequent questions our clients ask.

How much does a new roof or roof repair cost?

The cost of a new roof can depend on many variables like the current condition and size of your roof, the materials used, time of year, etc. While it’s a good idea to get multiple quotes, our roofing team, at Carolina Custom Contractors, provide quality roofing services at an honest price.

What roofing options do I have?

Whether you’re looking to replace or repair a residential or commercial roofing system, there are many options to choose from. For residential homes, we use high-quality GAF brand shingles or can increase your home’s value with a sturdy metal roof. For commercial buildings, we offer Thermoplastic Polyolefin roofing (TPO roofing), PVC roofing, and complete coating systems.

Do I need to prepare anything before having a new roof installed?

Possibly. It’s a good idea to remove any hanging pictures or art that may fall due to the hammering on your roof. If time allows, clear off your driveway and around your home in case materials were to fall off the roof (we’ll also appreciate the extra room).

How long will my roof last?

Even the most expensive and well-maintained roofs have an expiration date. The average lifespan of a quality roof with biyearly maintenance is around 20 years. Depending on your location, the climate, and the maintenance done to it, your roof could last longer or not.

How can I recognize when my roof system has problems?

  • Wet spots or water damage to your ceiling.
  • Missing, broken, or curling shingles
  • Lots of shingle granules in the gutters
  • Your chimney’s masonry is cracked or chipped

Overall, these are just some of our most commonly asked questions. If you are in need of any repairs or a replacement, we’re the team for you! Have any questions? Don’t hesitate to give us a call! Want to schedule your FREE consultation? Click here.
